'The filmed play of Duck Duck Goose and the accompanying workshops and lessons plans,
are an excellent resource for Senior Cycle.
Our 6th years watched the play and took part in a workshop with Fishamble.
Such has been the positive feedback from staff and students,
we have booked the initiative for our Transition Year, 5th year and 6th year students.
The initiative compliments the English, RE, RSE and Social Education curricula.'

Fishamble's Productions as part of the Decade of Centenaries Interview
Fishamble’s Literary Manager, Gavin Kostick, interviewed two playwrights about their plays for Fishamble, as part of the Decade of Centenaries. Deirdre Kinahan speaks about EMBARGO and OUTRAGE, and Colin Murphy talks about INSIDE THE GPO and THE TREATY, in a conversation that explores the playwrights’ role in understanding our history, what motivates a writer to explore the events of a century ago, and how theatre can help us understand who we are now.
The interview is filmed and edited by Nathan Snow, supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport, and Media.

The Treaty by Colin Murphy
One hundred years ago, a small group of untested politicians left Dublin for London, to negotiate for Irish independence with one of the most formidable delegations ever put together. The Irish were seeking to take back control; the British believed they were stronger together. The Unionists believed in a hard border on the island of Ireland; the Republicans wanted the border in the Irish Sea. The Irish wanted a hard exit from the British Empire; the British tried to tempt them with the Canada option. And overseeing it all was a prime minister nobody trusted, notorious for his wizardry. The Treaty is a history play for this moment. |
Duck Duck Goose by Caitriona Daly
Duck, Duck, Goose follows the story of Chris Quinn, a young man who, in an attempt to help his friend, becomes deeply embroiled in a rape allegation. As the rules change, and confusion reigns supreme, Chris struggles between loyalty, love and doubt. Full of moral ambiguity and psychological complexity, this viscerally-charged new play by Caitríona Daly constantly shifts our perspective on ideas of consent, trust, and trial by social media. |
