Why it's great to be a Friend of Fishamble

Being a Friend of Fishamble is a great way to support directly theatre makers in Ireland. Your support would go directly towards paying our artists and arts workers during this challenging time. In addition to people involved in our productions, this includes contracted artists whose shows have been cancelled, or artists taking part in our development programmes.

 Against all the odds, in 2021 our supporters enabled our 5-person team to:

• Employ over 300 artists and arts workers
• present over 111 presentations of 8 productions. ​
• share new Irish theatre with 10,000 audience members in more than 25 venues and festivals around the world.

Fishamble typically supports over 50% of writers of new plays on the island of Ireland year on year. Because of our supporters, Fishamble will be able to continue working with theatre makers across the island, ensuring that the future of Irish theatre is nurtured and supported.
