Fishamble's 2023 Programme
In 2023, Fishamble is proud to continue investing in the careers of artists, productions, new writing initiatives, and training and development programmes, ensuring that the future of Irish theatre is nurtured and supported.
We are delighted to present a number of productions both in Ireland and internationally in 2023:
In Two Minds by Joanne Ryan, directed by Sarah Jane Scaife, performed in October as part of Dublin Theatre Festival 2023, with a national tour to Theatre Royal, Waterford, and Belltable, Limerick.
Heaven by Eugene O' Brien, directed by Jim Culleton, performed in January 2023 at 59E59 in New York City as part of Origin's 1st Irish Theatre Festival.
Mustard by Eva O'Connor, directed by Hildegard Ryan, performed in February & March at Holden Street Theatres in Adelaide as part of Adelaide Fringe, and at the Arcola Theatre in London in June.
King by Pat Kinevane, directed by Jim Culleton, performing at various venues throughout Ireland from February.
The Humours of Bandon, by Margaret McAuliffe, directed by Stefanie Preissner, performed at the Pavilion in Dún Laoghaire in April followed by a tour of the USA throughout the summer.
Fishamble will also continue its programme of development initiatives, supporting the writers of over half the plays produced in Ireland, including the New Play Clinic, and the Transatlantic Commissions Programme in partnership with the Irish Repertory Theatre in New York for Black Irish writers and playwrights of colour.
