‘a cracking comedy thriller…one of the big hits of this year’s Dublin Theatre Festival…beautifully judged…director Jim Culleton shuffles menace, high stakes anxiety and light relief in a carousel of black comedy…well worth catching. ’
The Daily Telegraph
‘an enjoyable jaunt…filthily funny…the acting is spot on’
The Guardian
‘This fresh, funny play takes on five Irish men casting about in a new Ireland unfettered by the chains of history, religion or politics…Massey’s writing is sharply comic…Massey’s character’s embark on a dangerous game of cat and mouse that yields much theatrical enjoyment.’
Metro London
‘…sharp dialogue, well-paced direction and performances that effortlessly convince the audience that the fourth wall really is a window on to another world. It’s a rare thing to find a play that amuses, thrills, is sharply written and well-performed and yet is untaxing and easily accessible. ’
The Stage
‘Robert Massey’s play is partly a tense who’s-screwing-who thriller and partly a very funny comedy. It works on both levels and even better at the moments that they intersect, the menace and humour bouncing off each other with real theatrical excitement…directed by Jim Culleton to exploit all its tension and comedy without losing the tension of either. ’
