What's On
Heaven
by Eugene O'Brien Heaven is set in County Offaly, during the weekend of a local wedding. Mairead and Mal are struggling to keep their marriage together. Perhaps attending a wedding will help, or it might raise questions that are difficult to answer. This poignant, funny, beautiful, new play is full of humanity. HEAVEN is presented by the Olivier Award-winning Fishamble, written by Eugene O’Brien (winner of the Rooney Prize for Literature for EDEN), and directed by Jim Culleton (Irish Times Best Director Award winner 2019). The production will transfer to New York following its premiere at Dublin Theatre Festival. The Humours of Bandon
by Margaret Mc Auliffe ‘Don’t be afraid of that floor, hammer it!’ Annie is a 16-year-old Irish Dancer from Dublin and we meet her on the eve of the biggest competition of her life, the Irish Open Championships 1999. She charts us through the various successes and disappointments of her Irish Dancing life. We share her mind-numbing commitment and burning desire to win the coveted Irish Open title. Will she win and, if so, in what way? A coming-of-age story, The Humours of Bandon is an award-winning play, full of heart, humour and wisdom, for anyone who had a childhood passion that threatened to overwhelm their life. |
King
by Pat Kinevane King tells the story of Luther, who only leaves his apartment for essential journeys, and to perform as an Elvis impersonator. The play explores prejudice, privilege, and resilience, as Luther struggles to live life to the full. Fishamble and Pat Kinevane have previously collaborated on FORGOTTEN, SILENT, UNDERNEATH, and BEFORE, which have won major international awards. Now, Fishamble and Pat Kinevane, under the direction of Jim Culleton, and with music by Denis Clohessy, return with this very special fifth solo play. Mustard
by Eva O'Connor When E meets the man of her dreams, a professional cyclist, love hits her in the pubic bone like a train. But when it ends she plummets into a black hole of heartbreak at the speed of a doped up team on the Tour de France. A one-woman show about heartbreak, madness and how condiments are the ultimate coping mechanism, by award-winning playwright & performer Eva O’Connor. In 2023 Mustard travels to Adelaide Fringe Festival in Australia, for a few very special performances at Holden Street Theatres. |
