Description: The Carnival King takes place, one year after a local woman has been brutally murdered. All the inhabitants believe the woman's husband guilty of the crime, but nothing has been proven against him. As everyone prepares for the annual carnival including the election of its King - the ghost of the murdered woman stalks the small town seeking justice. Time is running out to find evidence that will incriminate the suspected murderer and finally let the victim rest in peace.
This play by Ian Kilroy is an entertaining and searing exploration of crime, justice and revenge. It is set in contemporary Ireland amid the wild abandon of an ancient Celtic ritual.
